Pierre-Olivier Fortin, PhD
Dr Fortin joined Oristan in 2018 and serves as a Portfolio Manager. He is responsible for monitoring positions, identifying new market opportunities, and executing trades. In this capacity, he plays a central role in the investment process, presenting high-conviction trade ideas to the firm's Investment Committee.
Alongside his institutional work, Dr Fortin has been a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Royal Holloway University of London since 2014. His core research investigates the interrelated dynamics of the loan market and collateral asset prices, with a specific focus on non-deposit-taking lenders.
Dr Fortin’s professional background includes a ten-year tenure at JPMorgan as a Quantitative Researcher. During this period, he specialised in fixed-income flows and derivatives markets, notably helping to lay the foundations of JP Morgan’s electronic trading capabilities. He also previously served as Chief Financial Officer for the crowd-forecasting firm Innoside.
He holds a Master’s in Functional Analysis from the University of Jussieu and École Polytechnique, France, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Durham, UK.
